To assist you in planning your visit, you will find information about venue accessibility on the websites of the theatres. We now provide links to these sites on our venues page.
We differentiate between venues that are “accessible”, “non accessible,” or “accessible with support”.
“Accessible with support” refers to wheelchair access that requires the help of the venue staff or a personal assistant. The accessibility of the venue is indicated by a symbol on our venues page. Most venues provide information on potential access limitations on their websites. Direct links to this information are also provided on our venues page.
All performances including subtitles or induction loop systems are marked accordingly in our schedule and on the company pages. The performances of Marc Brew’s “an Accident / a Life” include descriptive subtitles.
The company pages feature short texts in simple language. They describe the pieces in language that is easy to understand.
For the first time we indicate dance performances that might be of interest to people with cognitive disabilities with the label “Hora recommends.” These are “Story, story, die.” by winter guests, “The Others” by Anton Lachky Company, “BLKDOG” by Far From The Norm and “Tristan and Isolde” with Saburo Teshigawara and Rihoko Sato.
The four pieces were selected by members of Zurich’s Theater Hora ensemble. Theater Hora is one of Switzerland’s most renown independent dance, theatre, and performance groups. The project focuses on the work of the Hora ensemble that consists entirely of actors with a medically certified cognitive disability.
Steps offers an accompanied performance visit for people with cognitive disabilities for “BLKDOG” by Far From The Norm on May 7th at the Kurtheater Baden. The visit also includes an introduction to the piece before and a conversation with the artists after the performance. PDF with further information (in German).
We indicate potentially disturbing content on the company pages. We also provide information on special sound and lighting effects that could cause physical or psychological stress.
