There shall be dance – not only on the stage: Steps artists will hold workshops during the festival in which they provide insights into their work in master classes. This year we organise two main workshops; one taking place in Geneva and accessible to dancers with and without disability, the other workshop takes place in Zurich, places are limited, apply soon!
Workshop with Marc Brew
Marc Brew's extensive experience as a dancer and choreographer with a disability, working with disabled and non-disabled dancers means that he challenges performers’ expectations of their own limitations.
With his unique perspective and skills, Brew explores with the participants the beauty of difference through movement led exploration, creative tasks and set material.
Providing the dancers with a new vocabulary that enhances their creativity, he redefines expectations of physicality for performers.
The workshop will start with a contemporary class and will continue with some choreographic work with insight into his latest piece “an Accident / a Life", a first collaboration with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui.
